Opportunity 

As the Social Media Director, you will be responsible for leading the development, execution, and optimization of our organic social media presence. Your work will deepen engagement with our audience, cultivate community, and amplify our message through creative, mission-aligned content. 

You will oversee channel strategy, creative development, performance reporting, and community engagement—while managing a team of in-house and freelance contributors. The ideal candidate has a strong creative vision, data-driven instincts, and a deep understanding of how faith-forward storytelling connects on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Threads.

Responsibilities:  

Strategy & Leadership 

  • Define and lead the organic social media vision and roadmap across all platforms. 

  • Develop platform-specific strategies that align with broader brand, content, and campaign goals. 

  • Manage and mentor a small team of social media managers, content creators, and community coordinators. 

  • Collaborate with Content, Brand, Events, Paid Media, and Product teams to integrate organic strategies into cross-channel initiatives. 

Content Development 

  • Oversee the creation of original content including reels, stories, posts, carousels, live sessions, and behind-the-scenes media. 

  • Ensure all content reflects the organization’s voice—faith-filled, educational, inspiring, and trustworthy. 

  • Collaborate with design and video teams to ensure high creative standards and production quality. 

Community Engagement 

  • Build authentic relationships with followers through thoughtful interaction, storytelling, and feedback loops. 

  • Identify and develop relationships with faith-based influencers and brand advocates. 

  • Oversee moderation, comment response, and social listening to maintain a healthy online community. 

Performance & Optimization 

  • Set KPIs and track weekly/monthly performance metrics: reach, engagement, followers, saves, shares, and traffic. 

  • Conduct regular platform audits, A/B testing, and trend analysis to optimize growth and engagement. 

  • Stay up to date on platform changes, cultural trends, and algorithm shifts. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or related field.  

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in social media strategy, content or digital communications, with at least 2 years in a leadership role focused on social media.  

  • Proven ability to grow and engage large social followings organically. 

  • Deep understanding of platform best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn). 

  • Skilled in content planning, creative briefing, community management, and analytics. 

  • Strong appreciation for and alignment with biblical values and a faith-centered mission. 

  • Working knowledge of Canva, Sprout Social, or similar scheduling/reporting tools.  

  • Familiarity with SEO, influencer partnerships, and light paid social integration.
