Opportunity
The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the company's strategic decision-making by gathering, analyzing, and monitoring detailed insights on competitors and their offerings within the investor, business, and leadership events and education, as well as its axillary products and services. This role requires an expert in competitive research and analysis, with a sharp focus on tracking competitor activities, understanding their product and service offerings, and identifying opportunities for differentiation, and adoption. The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will directly report to the Strategic Planning Manager, providing competitive insights to drive growth and maintain the company’s leadership in its niche.
Responsibilities:
Continuously monitor key competitors in current and potential new markets, to inform strategy formation of events, new brands, new products product/service offerings, pricing strategies, market positioning, and customer engagement tactics.
Regularly track changes in competitor strategy, including new product launches, promotional campaigns, partnerships, and other strategic shifts.
Provide the leadership team with real-time insights and updates on any significant developments within the competitive landscape.
Conduct in-depth analysis of competitor product and service offerings, focusing on features, value propositions, target markets, pricing models, and customer experience strategies.
Identify trends and patterns in competitor offerings, including emerging technologies, content delivery methods, and innovations.
Assess the effectiveness of competitors' marketing strategies and how they communicate their products to different customer segments.
Compile detailed comparative reports that outline how a company’s offerings stand against key competitors, with recommendations for areas of improvement or potential new offerings.
Help shape the company’s go-to-market strategy by understanding the competitive landscape and advising on how to differentiate and position the company’s unique value proposition.
Track and analyze broader industry trends that may affect the competitive landscape, including shifts in customer preferences, technological innovations, and regulatory changes.
Provide a forward-looking view of the market, helping the company anticipate competitors' future moves and plan proactive responses.
Identify emerging competitors or new entrants that could disrupt the market and advise the leadership team on how to respond.
Produce clear, concise, and actionable reports on competitor activities, including competitive benchmarking, SWOT analyses (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), and industry trend assessments.
Leverage data visualization tools and platforms to make competitive data accessible and understandable for internal stakeholders.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Product Development teams to ensure competitive intelligence is used to inform product launches, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement strategies.
Provide insights into competitor behavior and market dynamics that can help shape customer-facing initiatives, from pricing to promotional tactics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
Proven experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis.
Experience in tracking and analyzing competitor offerings, pricing models, and market positioning.
Demonstrated ability to transform competitive data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
Strong expertise in competitive research methodologies and tools, including secondary research, market reports, and digital analytics platforms.
Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar) and comfortable with using data to create visual reports and presentations.
Strong ability to turn data into great presentations, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise reports and actionable insights.
Ability to keep data and information well organized within the company’s file and project management infrastructure.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to track and manage multiple competitive intelligence projects.
Highly analytical, strategic thinker with a passion for understanding market dynamics and competitor behavior.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills, capable of working cross-functionally to influence strategic initiatives.
